Cowboys and Cowgirls at the Corral
This experience is for groups of 2-5 people. It is a safe, fun-filled introduction into the wonders of horses. Each person will take turns grooming, tacking, riding and feeding the horse to learn care, responsibility, as well as, basic ground and riding skills. Participants receive an introduction into speaking the language of the horse or “horse talk.” By learning to communicate the person builds confidence and a sense of connection to these magnificent beings is forged. This is an unforgettable, memory making experience that is perfect for the kids, grandkids, aspiring buckaroos, a girls getaway, out of town guests or you and a special someone. Choose a 60 or 90 minute session.
Horsemanship 101
Want to be a “horse whisperer?” In these sessions you’ll learn about the psychology of the horse. By understanding how a horse makes decisions, you’ll learn how to communicate confidently and clearly with the horse. Lessons use instruction directed on groundwork to develop timing and feel that will establish you as a leader the horse wants to follow. The horse will want to do what you’re asking rather than being forced to do something. You’ll learn to have a lightness to your cues so, that your thought becomes the horses thought. Lessons are 60 minutes.
Pamela is a 6th generation equestrian and a lifetime horse lover. She trained and showed horses as a youth and has taught others to ride most of her life. She has taught yoga and meditation since 2000. She incorporates the skills she has learned from her teachers, Buck Brannaman, Carson James and Eric Bravo into all of her offerings.
Sessions are held on a 5 acre property in the beautiful hills of Placitas, with stunning views of distant mesas and peaks with the Sandias as the backdrop, just 10 minutes from I-25.
Horses teach us confidence, partnership, communication and trust. They are healers and soul companions. The relationship between humans and horses is special.
