*Fatwood kindling pieces are from the base-stump of an old growth pine. They contain all the flammable compounds that the entire weight of the tree compresses into concentrated form over the centuries. 4 pieces of regular Kindling are equal to 1 piece of fatwood in btu output. It burns like jet fuel.
