1) Active MC + USDOT
2) A 26ft box truck with liftgate (always 26ft, nothing smaller)
3) A 2-man team, sometimes 3 for heavy installs
No CDL required.
This is not an easy gig. Not OTR. Not solo. Local last-mile furniture and appliance delivery and in-home install out of Piscataway / Dayton NJ. Home every night.
Do not apply if you are still getting authority, a truck, or insurance. Do not apply if you only have a van, sprinter, or 16ft truck.
MUST ALREADY HAVE
- Active MC and USDOT (interstate authority already approved)
- EIN and an LLC or corporation
- Always a late-model 26ft box truck with liftgate, owned or already leased in your company name
- Commercial auto, cargo, and general liability insurance
- A 2-person delivery team (sometimes a 3rd for heavy pieces)
- Clean MVR; must pass background check and drug screen
- Lead driver 21+, valid license, 2+ years commercial driving. No CDL required
- White-glove in-home delivery, assembly, appliance install, trash-out. Heavy lifting.
THE WORK
Piscataway NJ routes for major furniture and appliance retailers. 5-6 days in most markets. Weekly settlements.
