5 year old mare. I've owned her since she was a weanling( my dad raised her). I have rode her outside gathering cattle mostly, and have branded calves on her several different times. Wears a #2 shoe.
Asking $4500 obo. Open to trades. Call if you have questions.
Pros.
Shes pretty easy to be around, good to catch, easy keeper, lots of bone, good confirmation, athletic. Does a really good job of getting you in position to heal calves. Has cow sense. She had a colt when she was 4 and was a good mother and didn't have any problems.
Cons.
I can't guarantee that she's sound. You can ride her and she'll be fine everyday all day for a month. But randomly at the end of a day she'll sometimes shift weight off her front right foot and favor it for the next couple weeks. Not the greatest to shoe but I've put several sets on her. If she hasn't been rode in a while and is fresh, she occasionally will buck, and she can get a little spooky with dogs and calves running around her legs, but she does settle down.
Best career path for her would probably be a brood mare, or some kind of draft animal.
