For sale is my 1960 BMW R60 /2 Airhead conversion, fitted with a 1980 R80 engine. The conversion was done exceptionally well, resulting in a motorcycle that starts easily, idles quietly, and runs flawlessly.
I purchased the bike about five years ago from a certified BMW mechanic, and it has clearly been well maintained throughout its life. During my ownership it has received:
New tires
Rebuilt and synchronized 32mm Bing carburetors (last year)
New battery (last year)
Cosmetically, the tank has a few small bubbles in the enamel paint along with a handful of minor paint chips.
This is a beautiful, solid-running vintage BMW that captures the classic appearance and charm of a 1960s /2 while benefiting from the added power, reliability, and rideability of the later R80 engine. It's an excellent choice for someone looking for a vintage Airhead that's equally at home on display or out on the road.
One more cool thing - the frame has posts for a sidecar.
