The ideal candidate will be able to work independently from prints and tooling specifications, set up jobs, make machine adjustments, inspect finished tools, and maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Set up and operate Walter and ANCA tool and cutter grinders.
• Set up tooling, fixtures, grinding wheels, and work holding.
• Read and interpret blueprints and tooling specifications.
• Select and dress grinding wheels and adjust machine parameters.
• Grind and recondition precision cutting tools made from carbide and HSS.
• Inspect finished work using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot grinding and setup issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain quality, production schedules, and a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of tool and cutter grinding setup and operating experience.
• Experience with Walter and/or ANCA grinders strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of tool geometry, grinding processes, wheel selection, and dressing.
• Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience with CNC tool and cutter grinders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
