Hazel is a beautiful Doberman/Lab/Husky mix who will be 3 years old on January 17th. She is spayed and is a loving, playful girl with a big personality and lots of love to give.
Hazel loves playing fetch, treats, her Kong, and snuggling with her people. She has been around children 10+ with no problems. She has primarily been around women. With unfamiliar people, she can be nervous at first and may bark, raise her hackles, and come across as intimidating before she has had a chance to get comfortable. She has never bitten anyone, but she needs someone who is willing to give her time, patience, and space to build trust. Once she knows and trusts you, she is very loving, affectionate, and loyal.
Hazel does well with dogs around her size, but she can become territorial (with bones/toys) with smaller dogs. Because of this, she may do best as the only dog in the home, or with an experienced owner who understands careful introductions and dog behavior.
Hazel is energetic, intelligent, and loves having something to do. She would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and attention. An owner with experience with strong, energetic breeds would be ideal.
Hazel is not a perfect dog, but she is a wonderful dog who has so much love to give. She needs a home that can give her the exercise, structure, patience, and one-on-one attention she deserves. We want to find her a home where she can truly thrive and be the best version of herself.
