Equine Care Barn Duties include but not limited to:
*Cleaning stalls with shavings removing all manure and urine by SIFTING to keep clean shavings, and emptying muck cart into the dumpster
*Cleaning water, scrubbing algae when needed
*Feeding horses / specialized, individualized, MUST follow instructions. Filing and weighing hay nets.
*Turnout (bringing in and putting out according to temperatures and barn schedule.)
*General grounds upkeep, filling shavings carts, raking up debris as needed, filling feed cans, moving hay
*MUST have horse knowledge/ handling. This is a physical outdoor job that occurs in heat, rain and dust. You will need to be able to lift at least 50 pounds
Applicant must be:
Able to speak and read English
Punctual
Hard-working
Trustworthy
Reliable with Transportation
No smoking while on the property.
Absolutely no drugs will be tolerated
Applicant will work independently once completing the training trial period.
You must be proactive and put the needs of the horse first.
We feed and clean three times a day in 1.5 to 2 hour shifts.
Morning 6am
Noon/early afternoon
Evening: (a couple left) 6pm
We will hire multiple people OR it can be a split shift if someone wants more hours.
WEEKENDS are mandatory for both the morning and afternoon shifts.
Training / trial period pay is $17.50 hr, cash paid weekly for first two weeks.
Wages between $20 hr and up depending on performance with a 1099 will be discussed after trial period.
