I am an experienced bassist and sound designer starting to assemble an ensemble to play live house music. The drummer I am looking for is any age / gender and has the ability to program back track beats and perform live over with click track. The ensemble will be drums/bass/keys/horn (winds)/ supporting vocals, etc. The project itself is structured to be efficient in its use of time writing and rehearsing, and will be looking for shows that can afford to have us perform. While in its infancy now, I am hoping that the bass and drums can write most of the bones for tracks and then have supporting musicians and artists come mesh in to the existing structures. This is meant to be all fun, low stakes and a good side thing for those who might be interested in developing something like this. Rehearse every few weeks, build a continuous setlist with breaks and climaxes, and hit the scene. With the right artists this will become an area favorite.
Music-wise, I am looking to St. Germain, Jazzanova, Dzihan & Kamien, Kevin Yost for that type of sound. Less glow stick, referee-whistle house music... more deep jazz, funk, and world rhythms.
