๐ก THE PARTS OF THE HOUSE YOU ACTUALLY LIVE IN
The back patio nobody sits on because it is bare concrete. The pool deck that is cracked and hot. The blank, boring fireplace in the middle of the living room that could be the best thing in the room, if you just call us for a quote.
Those are the three we get called about most, and they are the three that change how a house feels to live in โ not just how it looks from the curb. I always say to even stone the walls with the most windows and doors so you can get the most bang for your buck, by subtracting all those areas from the square footage, is huge savings!
Stone and brick do something paint and concrete cannot: they throw a shadow. A flat surface takes the light flat, all while stone catches the light at the top of each stone and drops a shadow underneath it, giving your wall a shadow that moves all day. That is why a stone fireplace feels different at every hour of the day as the lighting changes, and a paver patio is just the icing on the cake.
๐งฑ PATIOS, POOL DECKS AND COURTYARDS
Patios, courtyards, walkways, stepping paths, side yards, pool decks, pool coping, steps, landings, borders, extensions, RV pads and firepits. Paver driveways too, and we remove the old concrete and haul it away. And when needed we can overlay pavers on your existing sound concrete. We have many options to help owners feel like our additions came from the builder, and not just added on after the fact.
Travertine, concrete, interlocking, marble, limestone, granite, cobblestone and brick pavers, tumbled or non-tumbled. Belgard, Pavestone, Acker-Stone and Phoenix Pavers. Ask about travertine for around the pool โ we can show you how well it compares to what you have now.
Plus pavers are essentially hundreds of separate pieces, that move a little instead of splitting the way a slab does. Which also means if a plumber ever has to dig, we can lift the pavers and put the same ones back down. You cannot do that with concrete.
๐งฐ WHAT IS UNDERNEATH IS THE JOB
What decides how a patio holds up is the part you never see: the old slab out, the subgrade cut to depth, ABC base laid in and compacted, screeded to grade so water runs away from the house instead of toward it. Then the joints locked with polymeric sand so the field stays tight and weeds and ants stay out.
Stone and brick are no different. On homes that are painted stucco on foam, we install metal lath โ also called wire mesh โ to add strength to the wall and increase the bond of the stone to your home. Wire mesh is the answer to "will this last?"
We do not cut the base for pavers, or the mesh for stone, to win a bid. If a price comes in well under ours, that is usually where the difference is, and it does not show up for a couple of summers.

Grouted or drystacked changes the whole look, and most people do not know they get to pick. Drystack reads tight and modern with the stone butted together. Grouted reads older and heavier with the joint showing, and we can even overgrout for an even older look. We can bring samples and show you against your own wall, in your own light, before you commit to anything.

Thin brick and full brick, inside and out. Interior feature walls, kitchen backsplashes, wine rooms, office walls and staircases. ๐๏ธ ALREADY HAVE STONE OR BRICK? WHITEWASH IT
If the stone or brick is fine but the color is dated, you do not have to tear anything off. A whitewash โ also called limewash, mortar wash or German smear โ is worked over what you already have. It lightens a blend that reads too dark or too busy, softens an orange or pink cast, and can be laid on heavier for a genuinely old, European look. Same wall, same stone, completely different room, and far less than a new install. We can sample a small area first so you see it on your own wall before we commit to the whole thing.
