Guilded Sheaf of Wheat
About the Design
• The Origin: The iconic design gained legendary status after a gilded wheat table (originally a gift from Salvador Dalí) was featured prominently in Coco Chanel's famous Parisian apartment on
Rue Cambon.
• Era & Style: Most authentic vintage iterations were produced in Italy, France, or Germany during the 1950s through the 1970s. Notable mid-century designers like Hans Kögl popularized the style.
• Materials: The table features a sculptural, flared base crafted from gilt metal (iron or steel with a gold-toned finish) bound tightly in the middle, resembling a bundled stalk of wheat. It is topped with a heavy, circular piece of tempered clear glass.
• Value: Excellent-condition vintage pieces are highly collectible and regularly trade on premier antique and design marketplaces
Value $1000 - 4000.00
