2014 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback with 109,125 miles.
Here’s the honest story on the car. It ran and shifted fine. While I was doing some maintenance in the engine bay, I found that the upper TCM electrical connector/pigtail was already brittle/damaged. When it was disturbed, the connector came apart and since then it can intermittently lose power/contact to the TCM, causing the transmission to drop out of gear.
It needs the upper TCM connector/pigtail repaired or replaced and it needs current tabs. I planned on fixing it myself, but we already replaced the car and I simply don’t have the time or need for another project, so I’d rather price it accordingly and let someone handy finish it.
The clutches checked good, transmission actuators work, and the TCM itself is functional. When engaged, the transmission shifts smoothly.
A running 2014 Focus around this mileage is selling for considerably more, so there’s room here for someone who can do the electrical repair and wants a good inexpensive car.
A lot of maintenance has already been done:
- Brand-new tires
- Brakes all the way around
- New battery
- New motor mount
- Transmission fluid replaced
- New purge valve
- New air cleaner
- New key fob
Titanium trim includes:
- Black leather interior
- Heated front seats
- Sony premium audio
- Touchscreen infotainment
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Steering-wheel controls
- Factory alloy wheels
- Four-wheel disc brakes
- Fog lights
- Rear parking sensors
- Small rear receiver hitch
Overall it is in good shape for a 2014. There are some normal chips/wear and some rust beginning around the wheel-arch/dog-leg area.
Good candidate for a mechanic, DIYer, flipper, or someone looking for an inexpensive car who can handle the connector repair.
