Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.
Duties
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory management.
Assist in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring proper documentation and handling of goods.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to maintain safety standards and comply with OSHA regulations.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Handle heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are followed to prevent injury.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Participate in training sessions for new equipment or processes as needed.
Qualifications
Previous warehouse experience is preferred; experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus.
Proficient in operating forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment with a focus on safety.
Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and equipment operation.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements.
Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and order picking processes.
Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) consistently throughout the shift.
Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards is essential.
