Duties
* Skillfully cut, fillet, and prepare fish using precise slicing techniques and meat cutting skills to meet quality standards.
* Perform visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, appearance, and any signs of spoilage or defects.
* Package fish products accurately for retail display or shipment, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures and perishable goods management protocols.
* Handle fish with care during trimming, slicing, and portioning processes to maximize yield and presentation.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety management standards.
* Assist with inventory management by tracking perishable goods, rotating stock appropriately, and documenting food handling activities.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food production or preparation within the food industry, particularly in fish handling or butchery.
* Familiarity with retail store operations and customer service is a plus.
* Proficiency in using basic knife skills for fish cutting and trimming.
* Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management practices.
* Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of quality control and food handling standards.
* Ability to perform basic math calculations related to portioning, weight measurement, and packaging.
* Kitchen experience or culinary background that demonstrates slicing technique, meat preparation skills, and familiarity with perishable goods management is highly desirable.
