IGS Academy is looking for a part-time PE instructor / assistant to support physical education classes at IISO (International Islamic School) in Minami-Otsuka, Toshima-ku, Tokyo.
If you enjoy sports and working with children, this is an opportunity to help students from different cultural backgrounds build confidence, work together and discover the joy of being active.
THE ROLE
You will work alongside the lead coach and school staff to:
• Teach and assist with PE and sports activities.
• Join children in sports and games.
• Help run exercises and activities.
• Prepare equipment and set up before class.
• Help keep students safe and support them during lessons.
• Put equipment away after class.
• Coordinate with the lead coach and school staff.
You will start by assisting with classes and supporting students. As you become familiar with the lessons, you may take on more teaching responsibilities according to your experience and skills.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We welcome people who enjoy working with children and being physically active, and who are interested in PE, education or childcare. Experience in sports or raising children can be valuable.
We place importance on your approach to working with children and your ability to communicate with them.
English proficiency is not required. PE classes can be taught in Japanese.
Applicants balancing studies, family responsibilities or another job are welcome.
SCHEDULE
Every Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
6 working hours, with a 90-minute break.
There are no supervision or standby duties during the break.
Additional work on Thursdays or Fridays may become available.
PAY AND BENEFITS
• ¥8,500–¥10,000 per day, plus transportation expenses.
• Two-month probation period: ¥8,000 per day, plus transportation expenses.
• Workers’ compensation insurance.
• Pay does not include a fixed overtime allowance.
