Hi! I’m Chika, and I’m building a new Cuban Salsa / Rueda community in Northeast DC.
I currently host a weekly Salsa class at Bryant St Market, and my goal is to create a fun, welcoming local community where people can come dance, meet new people, make friends, and have a great time.🎉
I’m comfortable with the dance side of things, but I’ll be honest — promoting events, approaching people, and getting the word out are not my strengths. 😅
So I’m looking for a few friendly, outgoing people who genuinely enjoy bringing people together.
You might be a great fit if you:
● Enjoy meeting new people
● Like inviting friends and acquaintances to events
● Are comfortable talking to people you don't know yet
● Enjoy creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere✨
● Like discovering or building something new in your neighborhood
● Have a network of friends, coworkers, neighbors, or social groups you can introduce
● Are excited about helping a small community grow from the beginning
You do NOT need to be a dancer.
Rueda or salsa experience is definitely welcome, but it is not required. What matters most is that you enjoy connecting people and helping create a positive social environment.
This isn't complicated sales work. I'm looking for people who can help with things like:
● Inviting friends to come try a class
● Sharing the event with local friends and groups
● Introducing new people when they arrive
● Helping newcomers feel welcome😊
● Bringing positive energy to the event
● Brainstorming simple ways to get more local people involved
I'm hoping to find several people who want to be part of the founding community, rather than relying on one person to do everything.
If you like the idea of saying, "I helped build this community from the beginning," this could be a fun opportunity.🎶
