We’re looking for an additional CNC Programmer to support our milling and turning operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs. This role plays a key part in connecting engineering and production—ensuring that machined parts are accurate, efficient, and built to customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will work closely with machinists, QA, engineering, and planning to support successful job execution. A deep understanding of machining practices, materials, tooling, and CAD/CAM software is essential. This role also supports process improvements, operator training, and hands-on troubleshooting on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, revise, and optimize CNC programs for vertical/horizontal mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines using Mastercam
Interpret drawings, models, and specifications to determine optimal tooling, speeds/feeds, and machining strategies
Partner with machinists, QA, and production staff to resolve issues, reduce scrap, and improve cycle times
Maintain organized, revision-controlled program files in accordance with procedures and process updates
Create setup documentation including tool lists, setup sheets, and fixture layouts
Manage DNC communication to ensure successful transfer of programs to machines
Participate in root cause investigations and lead efforts to improve machining accuracy and efficiency
Support operators with program intent, troubleshooting, and G-code guidance
Recommend tooling improvements and initiate procurement of new tools and machining supplies
Provide design for manufacturability (DFM) input during planning and quoting phases
Help manage CAD file archives and part model libraries used for programming
Contribute to production readiness reviews and process planning for new jobs
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of vertical / horizontal CNC programming experience using Mastercam in a production environment including 4th & 5th axis programming
Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and machining behavior of materials like aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel
Experience with Haas, Okuma, Mori, or other Fanuc-based controls
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and 3D models
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities and work independently
Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments
Preferred Qualifications
Background in space, aerospace or commercial metal manufacturing
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
Ability to edit G-code and modify post processors
Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms
