Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a leading industrial manufacturing company in the Oxford, AL area, is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join its assembly team! This is a full-time opportunity offering competitive pay for qualified candidates with industrial pipefitting experience.
Pipefitter Job Summary:
Pay: $30–$36 an hour
Location: Oxford, Alabama
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 8–10-hour shifts, up to six days per week
Pipefitter Job Responsibilities:
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment
Work with piping systems used for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubrication, sprinklers, and industrial production or processing
Review blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications to determine the required materials, tools, and sequence of work
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble, and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings
Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure components in the proper position
Use testing equipment to inspect piping systems for leaks
Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth the surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment
Cross-train and perform other assigned job duties as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
Pipefitter Performance Expectations:
Produce high-quality work with zero nonconformances
Complete assigned projects within established deadlines
Perform all work safely and follow established health and safety procedures
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Pipefitter Qualifications:
Journeyman Pipefitter or Steamfitter certification is required
One to three years of industrial pipefitting experience is preferred
Must possess an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience
Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders
Must be able to safely operate various hand tools and power tools
Experience operating an industrial-powered forklift is preferred
Must be able to follow directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Must have strong time-management and organizational skills
Must be detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work
Must demonstrate a professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude
Pipefitter Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and work for 8–10 hours per day and up to six days per week
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to frequently lift and move materials throughout the workday
Must have the close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required to perform detailed assembly work
Must be able to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
