ORIGINAL REAL PHOTOGRAPH* POSTCARD of THREE KITTENS with NEW ENGLAND SPLINT LUNCH BASKET, & Ceramic Bowl with F ood, Mkd. on the front, 'Copyright 1905, by The Rotograph Co. N.Y.', 1905, 5" x 3". On verso / the back it's marked, 'The Rotograph Co., N.Y. City.' The Rotograph Company based in the Mercantile Building, at 684 Broadway was active as publisher of postcards from 1904-1911. It was formed from the merger of the National Art Views Company (active 1902-1904), based in New York City, with the American branch of the Neue Photgraphische Gesellschaft (Berlin, Germany), founded in 1894, which was the corporate parent. They were printed in Hamburg, Germany, by Stengel of Dresden, & by Knackstedt & Nather of Nancy, France. *Bromide Real Photo cards are made from Bromide paper which is a blue light sensitive photo paper coated with an emulsion of silver bromide in gelatin, developed by J.W.
