This is a James Jones custom performance 3/16/19/2 Hammered Dulcimer. It has several courses of extended bass as well as treble strings. it is very sturdy instrument and holds its tune extremely well. It comes with Tri- stander extension legs as well as an internal pick up as well as dampers with a foot pedal. Those features alone would add $1500 to the cost of it. I am selling it because it weighs a lot, almost 40 pounds, and has to get older, I need a lighter weight instrument. It has 7/8 inch spacing between the strings and is really great for fast fiddle tunes but still sounds very pleasant with slow Irish airs. It comes with a heavy duty canvas case that James Jones had custom-made for his instruments.
I would be willing to meet up to 50 miles from Allentown if you pay full price.
