First, there is a '96 geo metro 1.0l 2d hatchback that is totaled with its front end smashed and the shifting rod broke a hole in the transmission..however, the only damage it did to the engine was it bent the top of a spark plug...so, the motor was yoinked from it, thus defining it a parts car. This vehicle will need to be winched on a trailer because I've used parts off of the struts and shocks...basically it's gutted aside from the windows and seats.
Vehicle #2: '93 geo metro 1.0L 2d hatchback 5 speed
shortly after totaling the first one, I acquired a '93 geo metro 1.0L 2d hatchback which had a blown motor.
This began the swap... (in 2013 might I add..at the time I was 18yo and I am a 32yo female doing this myself cuz I won't ever be able to afford to hire a mechanic thh, if that gives you a better idea of what's going on here...lol)
It was the beginning of a beautiful and long process of a motor swap.. I put the 96 engine in the 93 body... the AC system was not compatible with this motor so it never worked however it should with its original engine put back in... long story not made short, its ran ever since...(with some months inbetween of maintenance when it sat for a month or two here and there)
This is by far the best little car.. in my opinion...
It is no showcase gem, but rather a diamond in the rough... It has new struts and shocks on it all the way around. (there's one i didn't install because I didn't need to at that moment It just needed to get me where I needed at the end of the day but I still have it and will be included.. All 4 Brand new tires. there's also a New head gasket still in package.
the motor from the 93 will be included of course, I took it apart to figure out what was wrong with it and it had a valve that was worn... (this was done in 2013 might I add and focus shifted to installing the other motor is why it was put in a box and forgotten about) the majority of the parts to both vehicles are still in procession unless it was broken..
the reason why I'm wanting to get rid of them is because It wasn't until the last time i drove it a couple weeks ago it left me stranded in town w a dead battery. And the battery was replaced under warranty in July... and I don't want to put anything else into them(although it's been the best car ever and I have four kids, 75% are boys and it's just too small for us now that they are bigger )
now there are some kinks to this vehicle(the one that runs), a lot of them most of which are minut..will begin with most important...
-the fourth gear is out. all other work fine and essentially kept driving it and would just skip fourth gear...
-the odometer quit counting years ago
-the speedometer cable stretched out so cut the end off
-the outside door handles are broken and believe it's just a linkage thing but it didn't bother me to leave the window down a tidbit (my thoughts are who'd want to steal this bucket anyways) to reach my arm in to open the door every time.
-the gas gauge did work on good days but it might now be stuck or something
-the key is broken off in the ignition. however, it still works when you stick it in and turn it just don't lock both doors with the windows up and the hatch closed all the way...
-the heater quit working, it used to work great but believe something may have gotten stuck in the blower motor(assuming something my kids put in the vents) causing it to potentially burn up.
-theres a crack across the windshield
-radio is missing
I will also include its medical history of the things that's been done to it the best of what I can remember and the years of the parts that work and don't ...Titles to both vehicles in hand
Not that this isn't already a lot to process or anything ...
