Grassmaster sheep were selectively bred by Abram Bowerman on his Stillwaters Farm in Missouri--taking Katahdin hair sheep and producing sturdy, more muscled hair sheep on a grass-based diet.
We have used only Grassmaster rams from Abram's farm for 7 generations now as our sires. Our ram lambs have been selected for these traits: ease of lambing (we never assist ewes, they lamb on pasture on their own), great maternal instincts, early shedding, low birth weights with high weaning weights.
