Hi, I'm an elderly partially disabled Viet Nam Vet and I'm looking for someone to fish with. I live in Olalla, near Gig Harbor.
I have my own boat but it's really not safe for me to go out on the water alone any more, and it's lonely to do so anyway. My boat is mostly set up for two adults, but plenty of room for kids or more agile adults. There's only two seats onboard, but a nice open front area.
I like to fish saltwater and freshwater, but in recent years I've been fishing mostly freshwater because of the ridiculousness limiting regulations and catch limits on the saltwater species. I grew up on the California coast and have fished saltwater most all my life and love it. Unfortunately, the boat I currently have is not really suitable for offshore fishing, but it's great for the Sound and any lake in the state.
I like to make my own lures, rigs and even weights. Always like to have everything already made up and set up so when I hit the fishing hole I'm ready to go. If you are into this that's an extra plus. I live in Olalla and keep the boat here at home.
I'm looking for someone who is a bit more agile and able than I to help launch and recover the boat. Someone who is willing and able to share the costs for fuel, bait, launch fees and the like. If you have kids or grand-kids you'd like to bring along that can be agreed on as well. I fished with all my children and grandchildren until they all grew up and have either moved away or gotten too busy to go with me now.
Being retired, I can go on weekends or during the week. I will do "last minute" trips, but I prefer to plan ahead whenever possible.
If what I am looking for is something you might be interested in, jot me an E-Mail with your phone number and we'll get in touch and see if we have something in common and anything clicks.
