Overview: For over 42 years, Alphabets has provided high quality preschool programs for children ages
3-5. Serving nutritious and delicious meals to the children is just one of the many ways we develop
healthy, happy kids!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or college level
- At least one year experience in food preparation/cooking
- Excellent reading and writing skills
- Must work well with others
- Must be able to interact/communicate with children, parents, office staff and teachers in a
friendly manner with a positive attitude
- Must successfully pass background/fingerprint checks
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Must be able to read recipes
- Must be able to handle measurements of ingredients to keep us in line with the Federal Food
Program who funds us (CACFP)
Job duties include (but are not limited to):
--Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack daily for 60 children
--Cleanup and maintenance of kitchen and all food prep and storage areas
--Ordering of supplies and meal components needed to prepare the meals
--Serving the meals to the children by bringing it on trays to the classrooms. This involves going up a
flight of stairs
--ServSafe Certification preferred
--Ensure children’s safety by maintaining, documenting and tracking food allergies to children daily with
every food serving
