This is a hand crank machine for making hollow objects using molds. You might use it to cast things out of plastic or clay. You make a mold and put it between the two plates in the center of this machine and lock it down. Then you pour your casting material into your mold and start turning the crank. The machine spins like a gyroscope, causing the casting material to coat only the sides of the mold and not the center. After your material has cured, you stop turning the crank and demold.
It works well. The machine was built by a guy in texas who has a side gig building and selling them. There is a little bit of tinkering to be done to get the tension right on the bolts, belts and, gear interfaces.
