I have a little project that unfortunately I cannot finish.
I will list what I know, in an effort to be 100% up front and honest.
I picked up this truck as a "beater truck" for my new house that (at the time) I was buying. I picked it up from a towing company that picked it up, and it sat on their lot. They didn't know anything about it, but needed it gone. I paid something in the neighborhood of $900-%1200 (I don't recall). They said it needs a clutch.
The battery was dead, so they put a jump-pack on it, and it started right away. But, you could put it in any gear and take your foot off the clutch and it wouldn't budge an inch. I went to the junk yard and pulled A BUNCH of interior things for it so when I change the clutch I'd have nice interior bits on the way home and got to work.
I purchased a clutch kit from Rock Auto. I purchased a new battery from my local Wal-Mart. It took me a few hours to replace the clutch as it was a very simple clutch change. Unfortunately this did NOTHING as the driveshaft spun but the wheels did not.
I believe there is something wrong with the rear differential (sir-clips fell out, gears broken, or anything in between). I did not think about it at the time, but the rear differential was very cheap and there was 1-2 identical trucks available. I should have pulled one tat that time, as well. But, I did not know this at the time.
Not only did I lose interest in the truck, but I needed to move it off my lift ASAP as my other car needed to be on the lift.
I also purchased a bunch of clearance items from Rock Auto that I will give you with the sale.
So, the truck runs amazing, however, it does not drive due to something mechanically wrong with the rear differential.
Paint is decent, body is very straight and looks good. The wheels are fantastic, but in HORRIBLE shape. I would either get them powder coated or get new ones.
I just want it gone. Come look at it and make an offer and take it home with you.
