Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff and will be responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position will address tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting hands-on activities, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, performing payroll, managing bank activities, remitting governmental liabilities, reconciling various GL accounts, developing budgets, and liaising with external partners. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Owner of the Company.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Lead accounting team with hands-on approach
• Prepare financial statements and analysis for multiple companies, complete complex reconciliations and prepare year-end working papers
• Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and processes; follow and comply with GAAP
• Create and maintain various reports and communicate with sales and operations teams
• Forecast and plan according to fiscal needs
• Support the Owner with various projects and process improvements
• Ensure the quarterly and annual bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining high level of accuracy
• Respond to various inquiries from internal staff and external partners

Requirements:
• Minimum five years’ supervisory and accounting management experience in a wholesale or distribution industry
• Minimum three years’ experience in a family owned business environment
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be MAC proficient and able to thrive in a fast pace setting, experience with Connected accounting software is an asset
