About Us:
Ultra Ceilings Inc. is a growing commercial construction subcontractor specializing in acoustical ceilings, specialty wall systems, FRP, and related construction services.
We are looking for an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Project Engineer to assist our Project Managers in overseeing multiple construction projects from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, a strong communicator, and capable of coordinating schedules, ordering materials, tracking project progress, and ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Assist Project Managers with daily project operations, scheduling, planning, and coordination.
- Scheduling:Coordinate manpower schedules, material deliveries, and upcoming project activities to ensure deadlines are met.
- Material Procurement:Prepare material takeoffs, place orders, track shipments, and ensure materials arrive on time.
- Project Updates:Communicate regularly with field supervisors and crews to obtain job progress updates, identify delays, and report project status to management.
- Communication: Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal management regarding project requirements and schedules.
- Project Documentation:Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and other project-related documentation.
- Budget Tracking: Assist with monitoring project labor hours, material costs, and budgets to help maintain project profitability.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and jobsite issues before they impact project progress.
- Project Closeout: Assist with punch lists, final documentation, and project completion requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in commercial construction or project coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and construction management software.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with material ordering, scheduling, and construction documentation is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
