Up for sale here is a Craftsman 917.378200 self-propelled walk-behind bagger mower.
Fuel system completely cleaned. Tank & line flushed, carb disassembled and cleaned. New cables ... but read on about that!!
Always fires right up, although the automatic choke is some bad engineering. Takes a bit for the thermal spring on the exhaust to pull the choke OFF after running - takes 1 minute, then runs normally without fail. Idiotic design!
Brand new cable installed ... because the stupid cheap garbage plastic broke on the old one. Installed new $40+ ripoff cable assembly and it got broken AGAIN before its 1st use!
After all of that, the owner is done with it. I bought him an older model and took this on trade.
I've mickey-moused the broken part with a hose clamp - see pic. Works as it should now. The only function of the broken plastic piece is to hold the 2 cables from moving (along with that bolt that goes through it, pictured next to clamp). This repair accomplishes the same goal, just isn't as pretty.
Self-propel feature also works.
Most of pics are without the bag, but IT IS THERE. See 1st and 8th pics. Got left out in the rain, hence the stain. I'll clean it when I get a minute & retake the pics.
My work schedule SUCKS, so be patient. You'll have better luck afternoons and nights getting ahold of me.
