About the Role
American Thermal is seeking an established labor contractor or experienced installation crew to manage turnkey field installations of mechanical shutter systems across Illinois. You will fully own the installation lifecycle—from initial measurement and material pickup to installation, quality inspection, and site cleanup.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site measurements, site assessments, and accurate install quotes.
• Pick up materials from our distribution hub and transport shutters safely to job sites.
• Staff, schedule, and supervise your own crews across active projects.
• Perform high-quality mechanical shutter installations.
• Execute final inspections and walk-throughs with property owners.
• Submit completion photos and invoices after each job.
Compensation & Perks
• Tier 1 ($85/hr): Standard installations with demonstrated speed, precision, and alignment skills.
• Tier 2 ($95/hr): Advanced expertise handling custom fits and complex installations.
• Team Expansion Premium: An additional +$10/hr to the base rate for each crew member staffed on a project.
• Bi-weekly payouts on all completed, documented jobs.
Requirements
• Proven experience in mechanical shutter, window, or exterior architectural installations.
• Must provide an active Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming American Thermal as additional insured, meeting Illinois Home Repair & Remodeling Act requirements.
• Active Workers’ Compensation coverage for all working crew members.
• Own vehicle/transportation suitable for hauling shutters and materials.
• All necessary tools and site protection supplies (drop cloths, plastic coverings, cleanup gear).
• Commitment to a 2-year warranty on installation labor and full liability for site protection.
