Independent feature film seeking stand-ins for principal performers. Stand-ins will assist the camera and lighting departments with blocking, framing, focus and lighting setups while the principal actors are unavailable for technical setup.
This is a stand-in position, not an on-camera acting role.
Compensation: No pay. Meals provided, local transportation reimbursed, and IMDb credit provided where applicable.
Full-day availability is required for the dates you commit to. Exact call and wrap times will vary and will be provided on the call sheet.
Intimacy-content note: This shoot includes a closed-set scene involving simulated sex and performer nudity. Stand-ins will not be asked to disrobe, perform simulated sex, kiss, or participate in intimate choreography. Any stand-in work for this sequence will be fully clothed and limited to ordinary camera/lighting/blocking purposes. Stand-ins may be released from the room once the closed-set portion begins.
STAND-IN #1 — Norman
Man, approximately 20–40. No taller than 5'7". Slim to athletic build, dark hair, with general complexion/hair reasonably similar to the principal.
Needed Sept. 12–17. Strong preference for someone available all six shoot days, although partial availability will be considered. Please list all available dates.
This position is especially important because the principal actor is also directing the film, so the stand-in will frequently hold his position while he works with the camera department, crew and other actors.
STAND-IN #2 — Ashleigh
Woman, approximately 20–40. No taller than 5'6". Average build, dark-to-auburn hair, fair/light complexion.
Needed Sept. 14, 15 and 16. Preference for someone available all three days, although partial availability will be considered.
STAND-IN #3 — Greg
Man, approximately 20–40. 5'10"–6'0". Slim to athletic build.
Needed Sept. 17 only.
STAND-IN #4 — Lee
Woman, approximately 35–60. Average build, brown-to-auburn hair.
Needed Sept. 15 only.
Small, focused independent narrative production with an experienced filmmaking team. This can be a good opportunity for someone interested in learning how camera, lighting, framing and blocking work on a professional narrative set.
Previous stand-in experience is helpful but not required. Reliability, punctuality and the ability to patiently hold marks and take direction are more important.
