We are seeking an experienced and professional Maître D’ to lead our front door and help create an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure.
The Maître D’ will oversee reservations, seating, guest relations, and the overall flow of the dining room. This position requires strong restaurant experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain organized and professional in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate understands how to properly pace reservations, manage table turns, communicate with the service team, and handle guest requests or concerns with confidence and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Warmly welcome and acknowledge all guests upon arrival.
Manage reservations, seating, and waitlists using OpenTable.
Work with Tripleseat to review and coordinate restaurant events, large parties, and special reservations as needed.
Manage table assignments and seating rotation while maintaining proper dining room flow.
Monitor reservation pacing, table turn times, walk-ins, and guest wait times.
Communicate closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management throughout service.
Recognize VIPs, regular guests, special occasions, and special requests.
Handle guest concerns professionally and assist with guest recovery when necessary.
Maintain an organized and professional host stand and front entrance.
Oversee and support the host team during service.
Assist with training and onboarding new hosts.
Communicate large parties, events, allergies, special requests, and important reservation notes to the appropriate team members.
Work closely with management to improve guest satisfaction and overall service.
Help ensure the restaurant is prepared for upcoming reservations, events, and high-volume services.
Qualifications
Previous Maître D’, Lead Host, or similar restaurant experience is required.
Experience working in a high-volume, full-service restaurant is strongly preferred.
OpenTable experience is required.
Experience with Tripleseat is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of reservation management, table rotation, and dining room pacing.
Excellent communication and guest service skills.
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional during busy service periods.
Strong attention to detail.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be comfortable communicating with guests, management, and restaurant staff.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume restaurant days as needed.
