Facilities Associate
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY Salary: $39,000 per year Position Type: Full-Time, In-Office
Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Associate to support the day-to-day maintenance and operations of our Midtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing light handyman work, assembling furniture, organizing supplies, responding to facility requests, and helping maintain a clean, safe, and functional workplace.
Responsibilities
• Respond to and resolve day-to-day facilities and maintenance requests.
• Perform basic handyman tasks, repairs, and general office maintenance.
• Assemble, move, and rearrange office furniture and equipment.
• Safely lift and carry 20+ pounds as needed.
• Set up and break down workspaces, conference rooms, and office areas.
• Order, receive, organize, and maintain office and facility supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure commonly used supplies are readily available.
• Coordinate deliveries and assist with receiving and moving packages or supplies.
• Submit and track maintenance requests with building management and outside vendors.
• Assist with office moves, furniture installations, and workspace changes.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, or facility issues.
• Help maintain common areas, conference rooms, kitchens, storage areas, and other office spaces.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of office equipment and facility-related issues.
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure supplies and equipment are properly stored.
• Assist with vendor access and coordinate scheduled repairs and services.
• Help ensure the office is clean, safe, organized, and presentable.
• Follow building safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other facilities and administrative support duties as needed.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, building operations, office services, or a similar hands-on role preferred.
• Strong practical/handyman skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
• Comfortable assembling furniture and moving office equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry 20+ pounds.
• Reliable, organized, and responsive to requests.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple requests.
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Basic computer skills for submitting requests, tracking supplies, and communicating with vendors.
