London:
Printed by William Pearson for the Company of
Stationers. 1702.
Antique, well over three centuries old Book of Common Prayer with Psalter included in the Common Prayer Book section and then again with its own title page in Metre following the last section of the Book of Common Prayer, the prayer At The Healing, with its own title page dated 1702. Book is in overall very good to near fine condition for its age, bound in full black morocco leather with decoratively hubbed spine face and worked gold gilded design to the covers and spine face, also with gold gilded outer page fore edges. Interior of the book has marbled front and back endpapers with pasted down 19th or 20th century name plate on front endpaper and the 1709 bookplate of John Lord Bishop of Ossory on the reverse side of the marbled front endpaper along with 18th century ink notation mentioning that this volume contains the prayer 'At The Healing'.
Exterior of the book is overall clean and well intact with minor rubs, scuffs or light age, use and shelf wear here and there. Interior pages are still sturdy with some mild toning from age as well as some occasional and minor foxing or soils here and there throughout or very minor and marginal tatters very occasionally in a blank page margin. The page adjacent to the 'At the Healing' prayer has what appears to be a very old page repair at the upper margin of the page and this leaf also has smaller repairs on the front and back side of it with perhaps some more very occasional and hard to notice page repairs here or there throughout. Book's binding is tight and very well intact and the book is complete with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing. Book has no odors.
Book is not paginated but measures approximately 7 3/4 x 5 x 1 1/2 inches and weighs about 1 1/4 pounds.
