The Alps MD-5000 is a special printer. Only someone who is familiar with what this printer can do will be interested in buying it.
It prints with waterproof, indelible ink. Included are several packages of ink cassettes, including some metalic inks, dye sublimation photo inks, and some specialty papers. Also the USB adapter.
This printer was in high demand after Alps stopped making them. Later, demand was probably low or non-existant because the inks were hard to find, But now there is a company in Japan that has made the inks available again. The buyer of this printer will need to buy at least one black ink cassette. While there is one brand new cassette with a full reel of black ink included, one end of the reel is loose from the spindle. (When that one is used up, splice the loose end into that cassette - what I would do.)
The printer works and has been safely stored for several years. I will accept a "best offer" but not a low-ball offer for it. I am not selling it because I need the money, but because it is taking up space, and someone could be using it for their creative projects. If it is not sold by mid-September, it won't be sold; I simply keep it.
One of the use cases that hobbyists used the MD-5000 for was printing decals. Of course there are many other uses for this printer. The dye-sublimation printed photographs are stunning.
The printer and inks and paper and everything are neatly packed in a taped box. I am not going to reopen the box to take photos. Photos exist from when I packed it, but they are not at hand right now.
