Converted School Bus — FIRE SALE — $20k OBO in the coming month (I'm in it $50k in materials, not counting labor)
Time to let this bus go to someone else for more adventures. Serious buyers only — everything you need to decide is below and in the video. Best offer in the next month takes it.
Location: Nevada City, CA. Can stay stored in Reno if you want (~$85/mo, not my facility).
Mechanically sound. 24v 5.9 Cummins (last year pre-emissions), 180k mi, Allison 2000 5-speed. Starts first crank every time. Drove it Santa Cruz → Reno via Donner, to Burning Man, back to Nevada City in the last few months. Slow up hills but always makes it. Recent maintenance: transmission service, new rear airbags + shocks, cooling system flush.
Built for boondocking. Off-grid for weeks without filling water/food/diesel; electrical runs indefinitely parked in sun. Run AC all day at the burn and still hit 100% battery on solar alone — no generator.
Specs:
30' length, 6'4" interior height, full air ride (front + rear)
10 mpg
10kWh 48v lithium / all Victron (MultiPlus II, 150/45 MPPT, Lynx distributor)
2400W solar (6×400W SunPower) — ~10kWh on a sunny day
120 gal water, 60 gal diesel, Webasto diesel heater
Washing machine, large fridge, compost toilet, hideaway indoor shower, hot/cold plumbing
2 queen sleeping areas (front + rear), tons of storage
15A shore hookup (never used — it gives power more than it needs it)
No propane, no generator
Honest condition: Some rust underneath. Interior converted 4 years ago, not perfect, but all appliances work. Electrical and plumbing are bomber.
We lived in it full-time for 2 years with twin toddlers (1.5–3.5), plus various adventures since including 2 Burning Mans.
