Oversize and logging experience is required as some of our loads can be 100' poles with an overall length of 120'.
The typical trip is Sunday afternoon depature to OR or WA yards to load and go to Silver Springs NV, which is 13 miles south of Fernley NV. Distance is approxamently 780 miles through Burns OR (due to CA weight restrictions). After unloading in Silver Springs, its 438 miles empty (trailer loaded on truck) back through CA to OR (Roseburg usually) and load for second trip returning to Silver Springs. Depending on WX this example puts you back in Nampa Thrusday night. This is just an example. In the pole business, the only constant is change.
This is just an example trip. Dispatch for the following week arrives on Friday and trips may be to other locations. This gives us flexiblity regarding scheduling based on drivers needs.
For example you will be assigned to a self loader truck and deliver finished product directly to customers through out the Western US. These trips are normaly only 5 days depending on distance. We always dead head home with trailer loaded.
You will be sharing my truck and I am flexabile on schedule. 1 week on 1 week off or 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or any variation depending on your requirements for home time.
I have been in the pole business for 23 years. My age is not allowing me to work full time due to physical limitations.
