We are very HONEST about our horse adoptions with the intent to find the PERFECT home. If you want to know exactly what you're getting, keep reading ...
Star Dust is one in a million with her gorgeous baroque movement, easy-going demeanor, and super-lux HYPOALLERGENIC curly coat. Bashkir Curlies are a unique and sought-after breed, especially among horse lovers with allergies. Their distinctive coats make them an appealing option for people who have difficulty being around conventional horses, and we offer to mail you an allergen sample to ensure you are not allergic but of course we would always prefer that you meet her in person whenever possible. The natural ringlets in her mane stop people in their tracks and they can't resist running their fingers through her hair. She is a registered Bashkir Curly, which are hard to find, and you'll be hard-pressed to find another one this beautiful.

She's been kept barefoot with ultra-strong feet that leave her looking like she's always just seen the farrier. She's a very healthy girl and comes with a soundness guarantee.
If you're looking for an easy-going walk/trot trail partner with an incredible stop and side-pass - she's just right for you.
Before we had her, she was a trail horse for a woman in her 70's and it's easy to see why; she'll walk calmly, but happily trots off with a squeeze of the knees, and best of all ... she is as still as a statue when mounting. She's got a great stop, side-passes like a pro, and backs just as easily as she moves forward. She is easy to ride and is safe in all these ways but will need an intermediate+ rider if you want to lope her off. We've had her for over a year and ride her regularly, but twice she said she didn't want to lope off with a buck. We are very HONEST with our horse adoptions and want to find the PERFECT home for each individual and because of this reason, you need to be experienced if you want the lope, or if you are riding again after years of not riding, you'll want to keep her at a walk/trot until you're comfortable in the saddle again. She's very dependable and predictable in every way but the occasional reluctance to lope off. Once she is loping, it is calm and smooth but we don't recommend trying it if you're not up for a potentially rocky take-off.
On the ground she's an angel; she lunges on a line or in the ring, lifts all 4 feet, stands tied for hours, trailers like a dream, and bathes like it's spa day. She will seek me out in the pasture and stand just in front of me so I can scratch her neck and sides.
She enjoys taking a daily dip in the pond (LOVES the water) and would stay fat on air (VERY EASY KEEPER). She is completely comfortable with dogs and does well with other horses (she's right in the middle of the herd hierarchy so would do well with most).
She is registered as 'Wyoming Star Dust' with the American Bashkir Curly Registry, out of Wyoming Free Spirit on the top side, and Mac's Ginger on the bottom side. She has the LP gene with mottling around her eyes and nose. She would make an excellent broodmare (she's had at least one foal that we know of), but we do not have a signed transfer on her papers; however, this should not matter with a Bashkir Curly.
I've had her for a year and work with her regularly, including clicker training. I've had a lot of fun teaching her positive reinforcement with treats and hand cues. She happily follows my instruction with or without a halter and is gentle and patient when working for her treats, doing a great job respecting my space but staying engaged and 'ready to win the next prize'. Her adopter will receive 3 free lessons to learn how to reinforce the training she has had, with instruction on both operant and classical conditioning. She is trained to move into position by following my hand with 'touch' and will 'catch herself' by crossing the pasture to put her nose directly and willingly into the halter all on her own.
Trailering is available and a PPE is encouraged. She comes with a 15-day health guarantee, offering a 100% refund if she was adopted unsound. In addition, I will offer a 7-day-return-for-any-reason agreement if she isn't the perfect horse for you. Finding the RIGHT home is important to me. Ask for an agreement so you can read the details.
