We just finished our project using reclaimed kitchen drawers. Now the remaining drawers need a carpenter to repurpose them for use.
I cleaned them all. They need sanding then they are ready to paint. We put a primer, then two coats of paint and they look great.
Approximate dimensions:
2) Drawers to Right: Top drawer - 17" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 3 1/4" high; drawer front is 19" wide x 6" high.
Bottom drawer - 17" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 4 3/4" high; drawer front is 19" wide x 7 3/4" high.
1) Drawer in Middle: 25 3/4" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 3 1/4" high; drawer front is 27 3/4" wide x 6" high.
2) Drawers to Left: Top drawer - 14 1/2" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 3 1/4" high; drawer front is 16 1/2" wide x 6" high.
Bottom drawer - 14 3/4" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 9 1/4" high; drawer front is 16 3/4" wide x 11 3/4" high
3) Drawer Fronts with same handles and screws for attaching to drawers that you make:
from front to back: a) and b) 29" wide x 6" high and c) 27 3/4" wide x 6" high.
10) Wood pieces to make more drawer boxes with same type of wood:
Front stack of three - 16" x 10 7/8".
Second stack back, four pieces - 13 7/8" x 10 7/8".
Stack in back: Top piece - 18 3/4" x 9 1/8"; Bottom piece - 14 3/4" x 8 1/2".
10th piece on bottom: 16 1/8" x 22 1/8". This piece is not smooth like all the others and has 7) finishing nail holes around edge.
It would need a finish sanding. If you are painting the inside of the drawers, like we did, there would be no significant
difference in appearance or function.
Does anyone out there want to make the cabinet(s) for these pieces? Don't know how to make a cabinet with drawers, look on the internet for instructions. Presell them and paint to the buyer's choice of color.
Remember, I just cleaned them and five of them are ready for a cabinet.
It is all hard wood. The boxes have a smooth finish. The fronts are what show wear and why I suggest painting.
The craftsmanship is excellent.
