Sheep are ten times more sensitive to copper than goats are. The mineral mix formulated for goats will poison your flock.
Copper accumulates in the liver and doesn't clear. A ewe can eat a borderline level for a year and then drop dead with no warning, or go down jaundiced and staggering. The fix is simple — buy sheep-specific mineral and read the copper number on the tag.
Ewe lambs run $250 at five and six months. Ram lambs run $200 at six to eight.
Rani is the doe. A gallon per milking, morning and evening. $400.
