This ThinkPad has got some spunk, given it's age. If you know what you're doing and get the right replacement parts, this thing could still sing depending on what you need it for.
Two issues that you'll need to be aware of: The current battery on board has mere minutes left on it before it starts beeping and shuts off, so the AC Adapter must be plugged in at all times. The other issue is that the CD-ROM likes to pop open randomly. You may be able to find a fix, tape it shut, or replace.
I've wiped the machine so its ready for your fresh install. Happy to give it a new home! Maybe that's with you!
