Attention Sonor collectors! German drum building at its best! Very rare Sonor Hilite 12X5 snare drum in stain red maple lacquer finish. I think it’s the Adam Nussbaum finish but I’m not sure. It is clearly not the current version offered by Sonor, which I don’t like. Killer side snare with 8 lugs. Serial number is 8801.

Sonor Hilite drums achieve extra high projection with unique insulators that avoid sound absorption by providing no contact between metal parts and the wooden shell. The shells are 9-ply maple, cross-laminated with a thickness of 7.5 mm. The characteristics of these shells are a full and warm tone with precise attack.

Only the highest grade of select maple can deliver the volume and tone that make the unmistakable Sonor Hilite Sound.

• 9 ply, 7.5mm Cross Laminated Premium Maple Shells
• Chrome Fittings
• Red Maple (RM) Lacquer Finish
• Ferro Manganese Steel Rims

Sonor has gone on to offer more Maple Shell options, nothing is currently offered that replicates this specification which makes the Hilite sonically unique.
