Beautiful Early 1900's solid oak crank wall phone. Manufactured by Monarch Telephone Company of Chicago. Overall, the solid oak casing, and hardware are in good condition. There are minor blemishes, rust here/there for a 125 year old phone, but minimal. I believe all of the original mechanics/guts inside the phone are there. The crank mechanism, handset lever and all the parts that are supposed to move are moving freely and aren’t seized up. We have had this in our family for over 50 years. I have never seen it working, but we always had it hanging in our house.
Two items that would need replacement for it to look complete; the handset/earpiece, and the black mouthpiece section (See the photo.. These parts have been broken since I was a kid). There are replacement/replica websites where these could be purchased. As far as restoring it as a functional phone, that is beyond my knowledge, but I'm sure it could be done.
