House of Stefas, a high-end Greek restaurant in Millbrook, is looking for an experienced **bookkeeper / accounting professional** to handle the day-to-day financial administration of our restaurant.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our bookkeeping and work comfortably with **Toast POS, payroll, accounts payable, sales tax, reconciliations, and financial reporting.**
**Responsibilities include:**
- Full-service restaurant bookkeeping
- **Toast POS reconciliation** and daily sales reporting
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable and vendor invoices
- Payroll processing and payroll reconciliation
- NYS sales tax reporting
- Tracking labor, food & beverage costs and expenses
- Monthly P&L and financial reporting
- Tip and credit card reconciliation
- Cash reconciliation
- Vendor statement reconciliation
- Preparing information for CPA / year-end accounting
- Identifying discrepancies and keeping financial records accurate and organized
- General accounting support as needed
**Ideal candidate:**
- Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in **restaurants or hospitality**
- Strong understanding of **Toast POS**
- Experience with restaurant payroll
- Familiarity with New York State sales tax
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently
- Able to communicate directly with ownership and management
- Quick to identify problems and discrepancies
- Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
We are looking for a **full-service, hands-on bookkeeper** who can become a reliable part of our operation. This is more than basic data entry—we need someone who understands how a restaurant operates financially.
**Part-time or full-time depending on experience and availability.** Remote/hybrid may be possible for the right candidate, with occasional on-site work in Millbrook.
