Classification: Full-Time Position Summary
We are seeking an organized, approachable, and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team and support employees and managers across our hospitality operations.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role will assist with a variety of HR functions, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, union matters, onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day HR support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and being involved in different areas of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
• Support payroll processing by reviewing timecards, pay rates, overtime, deductions, employee changes, and payroll discrepancies.
• Assist employees with payroll questions, direct deposit, tax forms, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
• Support benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollments, qualifying life events, Open Enrollment, and employee benefit questions.
• Provide HR support for both union and non-union employees and assist with matters related to collective bargaining agreements, grievances, seniority, and other
Union requirements
• Serve as a point of contact for managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace questions.
• Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, investigations, disciplinary actions, and other sensitive employee concerns.
• Coordinate hiring and onboarding, including offer letters, new-hire documentation, Form I-9 and E-Verify, and employee system setup.
• Maintain accurate employee records and process changes such as transfers, promotions, pay rates, job titles, and separations.
• Assist with workers' compensation, leaves of absence, unemployment claims, garnishments, and other HR administrative processes.
• Communicate regularly with managers to ensure HR deadlines, documentation, payroll information, and employee changes are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain confidentiality of employees, payroll, benefits, and company information.
• Assist the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Director with HR projects and other departmental needs.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of Human Resources or related experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, employee relations, or HR administration strongly preferred.
• Union or hospitality experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of HR practices and employment compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with both employees and management.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with payroll systems and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

This position works closely with the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Director and provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across many areas of Human Resources within a growing hospitality organization.
