I have 11 six week old buttons ready to find their forever homes. They're currently living in a hutch on my back patio, but can also be indoor pets. Unlike Coturnix, button quail aren't cold hardy, so I keep a heater nearby for chilly nights.
Button quail, also known as Chinese painted quail or king quail, are tiny birds with high egg production. People keep them both as pets and backyard livestock. They're quiet and timid. Unfortunately, these guys aren't hand tamed, but I'm sure they could get used to handling with plenty of patience and treats.
Button quail are monogamous and do best in pairs, so I would recommend getting two or more birds. Each of them is only about as big as a sparrow and will fit in the palm of your hand. They live for 2-3 years if well cared for and only have an incubation period of 18 days. You'll want to buy them a smaller grain of feed; 30% chick starter works just fine.
I will drive the birds over to you or a designated meeting point. I'm based in northeast Mesa.
Super excited for them to find their new homes! Thank you.
