1997 was a transition year for F-250s — the HD model kept the old body style (OBS) from previous years, while Ford also introduced the new “aero” styling for the standard-duty ¾-ton truck. This was the last year of the OBS body style, last year of the big block 460CID/7.5L bulletproof gas engine.
Low miles for this age, always an Arizona truck originally purchased at Berge Ford in Mesa. No accidents, clean, straight, rust-free, great running, honest truck. Excellent non-smoking interior, excellent under the hood, fresh A/C, Bilsteins and excellent 265/75-16 Michelin Defender tires.
Always maintained with an open checkbook. Complete detailed service records during my ownership. Completely stock except for K&N air filter.
The unfortunate issue with this truck is the 1997 paint is failing in some areas...a victim of early water-based primer of the nineties. Nonetheless, a perfect candidate for easy restoration, resto-mod, or monster custom. Or drive it as is with confidence.
