**Auto Technician / Miata Race Car Builder**

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
**About Us**
East Street Racing is a specialized Midtown Memphis shop focused exclusively on building high-performance road-race Mazda Miatas. Our cars and customers have won 16 national championships. We are a small, non-smoking facility with a team of three technicians. We’re looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented auto technician who takes pride in quality work and wants to grow in a focused, high-skill environment.
**Job Responsibilities**
You will strip cars down to the bare shell and rebuild them into fully functional, track-ready race cars. Tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Disassembling and reassembling suspensions
- Removing and reinstalling dashes, wiring, engines, transmissions, clutches, rear differentials, and axles
- Pressing in bushings and bearings
- Removing and replacing doors, fenders, and other body panels
- Installing gauges and running associated wiring
- Performing alignments (preferred, but not required — we can train)
The work demands precision and thoroughness. There is no room for shortcuts. The tasks are mechanical, but they require strong attention to detail. All skills can be learned with the right mechanical aptitude, and we are happy to train the right candidate.
**Requirements**
- Minimum 2 years of professional auto technician experience
- Must have your own tools
- Strong attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM schedule
- Willing to travel to races approximately one weekend per month during the summer season
- Motivated to learn and grow in a specialized racing environment
