Early 1950s sleds from our childhood (husband, brother and myself). Our days of sleigh riding are definitely over. Hoping that someone else will appreciate the great memories made riding these sleds in our youth. Have been stored in garage.
GREAT IDEAS ON PINTEREST FOR OUTDOOR PORCH DISPLAYS
Great for winter decorating, restoration, or for riding Would make a great, unique gift for someone who has everything!!!
Metal runners and frame. Wood on top.
Original owners and sleds are all original. They are very old so may need some TLC
All sleds are pull sleds so you can use cord to pull sled up the hill or to pull children in the snow.
You can steer with your feet sitting upright or you can lay on your stomach and steer with your hands. We also did "belly flops" (start out running and then jump on the sled on your stomach)!

Article in NY Daily Record 12/99 granddaughter (81 yrs old in 1999) of Casper Oermann (died 1923), who owned American Acme Co,. said that American Acme gave their sleds names when selling them to bigger department stores. Oermann and family produced sleds under the name of American Acme Co. from the 1920s to 1960s. I also included the quotes used in advertising for the two sleds I'm selling.
