This portable beam platform scale has an actual equipment weight of approximately 170 to 200 pounds. Because it is built entirely out of rugged cast iron (including a 105-pound heavy cast iron base, a heavy lever system, and solid wheels), the unit itself is quite substantial. Note that this physical weight is separate from its total weighing capacity, which is 1,000 pounds.
